I've trained Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since 2005, competing and succeeding at the highest levels of competition on the planet (holding two worlds titles).

Additionally, I've applied my skills to ensure security in various environments, from managing conflicts in bars to maintaining order in professional hospital settings.

What is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu?

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art and sport originating from Brazil, emphasizing grappling and ground fighting techniques.

It prioritizes leverage, technique, and strategy over brute strength, making it accessible to people of all sizes and genders.

Practitioners aim to control opponents through grips, holds, and positioning, seeking to apply joint locks or chokeholds for submission.

Training involves drilling techniques, sparring, and competitive events. BJJ is valued for self-defense, fitness, and its dynamic nature, with practitioners competing in tournaments worldwide.

Why I train...

I train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) for various reasons:

1. **Self-defense**: BJJ offers me practical techniques to defend myself in real-life situations, empowering me to neutralize opponents regardless of their size or strength.

2. **Physical fitness**: BJJ provides me with a comprehensive workout that improves my cardiovascular health, strength, flexibility, and endurance.

3. **Mental discipline**: BJJ demands focus, patience, and problem-solving skills, which enhance my mental resilience and discipline.

4. **Stress relief**: Training in BJJ serves as a cathartic release, allowing me to channel stress and tension into productive physical activity.

5. **Community and camaraderie**: My BJJ academy fosters a supportive and tight-knit community, offering me social connections and a sense of belonging.

6. **Competition**: I'm drawn to the competitive aspect of BJJ, participating in tournaments to test my skills and challenge myself.

7. **Personal development**: BJJ promotes my personal growth by pushing me out of my comfort zone, teaching me humility, perseverance, and self-improvement.
